How We Choose What to Cover

Topics are chosen for usefulness first. We ask whether a piece will genuinely help someone planning a real trip to a real destination, whether it addresses a problem travelers actually run into - a missed connection, a confusing fare rule, finding a safe place to sleep near a night arrival - and whether the information has practical relevance beyond the moment we publish it.

• Does this help with a real, nameable destination or route, not a vague generality?
• Is this a problem travelers repeatedly ask about or run into?
• Will the answer still be useful to someone reading it in six months?
• Can we verify the details ourselves before publishing?

Recommendations and Guides

When we recommend a hostel or describe a route, the description is written from what we can verify - location, facilities, price range, and practical fit for the kind of traveler reading - rather than adapted from a listing a property wrote about itself. We do not copy booking-platform descriptions, because those are written to sell a room, not to prepare a traveler for what the stay is actually like.

Editorial Judgment and Advertising

Where advertising appears on this site, it is kept visually and structurally separate from editorial content, and it plays no role in which places we cover, how we describe them, or what conclusions an article reaches. Editorial judgment is not for sale, and we do not accept arrangements that would make it appear otherwise.

Transparency

We want it to be obvious, at a glance, which parts of the site are editorial and which are not. If that line ever becomes unclear on a page, that is a mistake worth reporting to us.
