When we arrived at the Elephant Guesthouse I noticed the bathroom was rather dirty. This got worse over the days and was not cleaned at all! When we left on Monday the bathroom looked like one in a student flat. The guesthouse was full and the bathroom was shared by a lot of people. So was the toilet downstairs and the kitchen en none of it was cleaned during the 4 days that we stayed there. On top of this we ran out of toiletpaper from Friday night until Saturday evening, when I finally managed to find someone who could ammend this problem.
I have tried to contact the owner about this, but so far have not had any reply to my various e-mails...

The room was cluttered (large walk-in closet, two dressers, two large beds, a wardrobe corner, hanger on TV - not enough space to move freely around the room), located on the top floor, carpet on the stairs was dirty and not vacuumed, and even though the property manager banned walking in the shoes in the kitchen were packages with linens and towels, and on the terrace was a rubbish dump, garbage cans in front of the house was not long emptied.

You could never guess you're a guest in this house. House is not kept, or cleaned at all. Trash cans overflown, dirty dishes all over, bags of dirty sheets in the kitchen. The housekeeper, supposed to be there at all time is curiously never there when you need him. The walls couldn't be thiner, you could sometimes hear three different conversations at the same time.
The one time we heard the noise of a vacuum cleaner, it was past 10:00 PM.

Room good in a cross cultural area, only point is that they were supposed to clean everyday the shared bathroom.... not even one time in 5 days...it was disgusting

Dont be fooled by the glamorous pictures online & the promt response you get through the owners. This place is nowhere close to a hotel & we are very confused as to why it is listed as one online. Everything is dirty & unhygienic. There are live in house keepers which we would class as a joke. They don't clean anything at all & they are only there to collect money for the owners. I find it ridiculous that you have to take your shoes off at the bottom of the stairs as the owners want to keep the quality of there carpets in ship shape. The carpets haven't been cleaned or vacuumed in what looks like months if not years. Then to talk about the non carpeted floors, bathroom floors covered in urine, hair what looks like dirt & dust everywhere, not to mention the blocked drain in the shower itself. The kitchen is just a living germ factory with food & dirt all over the floor, benches, cupboards, oven & microwave. Housekeepers had even put dirty dishes, pots/pans & cutlery away ready to be used again. The dining room table was probably the cleanest thing in the whole place after I wiped it down so we could eat, although became a little of putted by the smell of dirty washing bags stacked up against the wall. Outside was almost worst. There are piles of fly & maggot infested rubbish bags stacked next to the garden shed, overflowing garden waste bin filled with domestic rubbish & there are leaves & tree debris covering most of the courtyard & furniture. The next disappointing feature is that you are allowed to smoke not only cigarettes in your room but weed aswell. Each to their own, but when I asked if there was some type of air freshener or insence to mask the smells so we could sleep, I was just laughed at by the house keeper, insinuating to me that they condone this behaviour & allow smoking in the rooms. Pretty sure the ad said non smoking property. We have used the website that we booked this room through numerous times before & have had fantastic results with accomodation. But when it comes to this property it doesn't deserve anything over a 2.0 (this scored from lockable rooms, wifi & close to a supermarket). In all honesty we have stayed in hostels that are cleaner & 10x better maintained. This property is nothing more than a sharehouse. The owners have no interest in supplying acceptable accomodation, they are just there to take your money (once you enter the house you get that over whelming feeling of being in a tourist trap). We also think that there should be some kind of health authority visit this property & asess if it's acceptable living conditions to be able to charge people to stay there. We will be telling as many people as we can through social media & word of mouth about our experience at Elephant & Castle Lodge & how everyone should avoid this place at all costs.

é perto do centro, tem transportes frequentes a 100m,.
tem wi-fi.
é confortável.
o único senão é a limpeza dos WC's, estive 5 dias alojada e os wc naos foram limpos nenhuma vez.
