The location of the youth hostel is perfect: in the centre of Riva del Garda close to the beach. The rooms are tiny, but clean. It is a pity that you are not allowed to enter the youth hostel between 10 am and 3 pm due to the cleaning. The breakfast is really poor and did not meet my expectations. In addition, the staff is extremely unfriendly and despite the nice weather it is really hard for them to smile!

We traveled back to the Benacus hostel because it had been such a great experience the first time, a few years ago. Nothing has changed - still a warm friendly atmosphere, an infinitely patient host (Antonio) with lots of good advice to offer, and a location to die for. The surrounding villages and valleys are charming. Good hiking and bicycling in the area. As a destination, or as a stop on the way to the Dolomiti, this is a good place to stay. You will need at least a few nights to take in the town of Riva del Garda and the region.
