Comments (English): Everything in Iceland is expensive so value for money is hard to judge. People are generally friendly and helpful; country is beautiful. We had a great time overall.
Hotel room is acceptable if plain. Watch out for shower; water will go from cold to hot without warning and scald you. Also water does not drain from shower (and hot water has sulfur in it) so room always smells musty and wet. Room faced a busy street and was thus rather noisy. The guestbook detailing excursions, amenities, etc was out of date; they charged us substantially more that the prices in the book. The head manager(?owner) always came across as grumpy and the rest of the staff were clueless. However we spent very little time actually at the hotel so it really did not effect our Iceland experience. There is no food at the hotel; there is a grocery store near the hotel entrance.
